What is your role as a literary manager?
Our goal is to work with you to ensure that your writing is the best it can be. We pride ourselves on working closely with writers to guide their projects and turn them into sellable pieces that are ready to be introduced to producers, studios and networks.
What types of projects does Evatopia represent?
As our name implies, Evatopia is primarily interested in projects appealing to women. This includes projects directed at girls in their teens and young adulthood. Our genre interest is varied. We look for thrillers and mysteries, romance, and comedies.
How do I submit my manuscript/screenplay for consideration?
Please read our submission policy under the tab “Submissions.” An online form is available on our site, which allows you to fully describe your project. Please keep in mind the types of projects that we represent as illustrated above.
Do you work with first-time authors?
Yes, we are always happy to consider new authors with fresh voices and original stories.
What commission do you charge?
For screenplays, we charge a standard 15% commission on domestic contracts/sales, and 20% on foreign contracts/sales. Novelists accepted by Evatopia receive royalties based on book sales.
What is your response time?
Please note that we receive many submissions. We realize that authors are anxious to hear back about their work, but due to the sheer magnitude of submissions, we are only able to respond if we are requesting your work, unless you have signed up for our Scriptique service. However, in all cases our automated submission form will send you an email letting you know that your submission has been received. If we request your script or manuscript, our response time is typically 4 weeks.
Do you offer internships?
Yes, we offer internships to college students. If you are interested, please send your cover letter and resume to info@evatopia.com and write “internship” in the subject line.
